When talking about the music of Com Truise (one of the many pseudonyms of New Jersey designer/musician Seth Haley), the nostalgia bit inevitably comes up, so let’s get that out of the way. Yes, his songs tap classic sci-fi and proto-electro in a way that is distinctly early eighties in scope. But they’re also remarkably weird—stutter-step proggy and intoxicatingly psychedelic, like those classic touchstones got drunk on lava lamp juice inside a pinball machine. After his well-received Cyanide Sisters EP, a grip of remixes for artists like Twin Shadow, Neon Indian, and, uh, Daft Punk, and a few floating MP3s, Truise’s first LP, Galactic Melt, will finally enter brainspaces this summer.

Maria Schumacher - California Dreaming
Yesterday I saw this beautiful show in downtown Leipzig:
Kuhturm opened it's doors for a solo by Maria Schumacher.
It reminded me to see a painting as the traditional window to
the world. Yet there is something strange happening here.
Where this traditional way of looking, actually shows
something, here the scene is hidden. There is this colorfield which
works at first as some kind of window, but turns out to be more
like a fence, or a mirror. It's a cover up. The action (the world)
takes place behind the fence; behind the painting.
Whatever you see think to see, it's your own reflection.

Daniel Solar has done a great job by making this mixtape for Sleazy Beats Recordings.

Blood Orange
Blood Orange, a Brooklyn based project by Devonté Hynes, is
one of latest band I laid my fingers on, and burned it. Especially with
the new Bicep remix of his new song Sutphin Boulevard. It adds a
more danceable acid feel to the normally soulful, old school hip hop,
or just sexy songs. Word!

As a bear you can't just 'plan' a vacation. Months of
preparation, hours of scanning different possibilities.
These two family members for instance planned there holiday
in Ukraine, during the hunting season. To bad for them.
